A select.ed education consultant provides a free initial consultation to your family. During this initial discussion, a select.ed consultant will discuss your aspirations, timeframes for application and will, if required, talk parents through the different types of boarding education and universities on offer in the UK. The consultant will also wish to meet the child and chat to them. This initial consultation is likely to take place via video call and will last up to thirty minutes
Upon agreement that the family will work with select.ed, the child will complete the Academic Profiling Test (APT), an online assessment created to provide a comprehensive assessment of a student’s academic skills. The consultant will request current school reports / results, background information into the child and will conduct a further meeting with parents and child, to gather as much information as possible to enable suitable schools and universities to be researched. The APT feedback consultation can be in peron or via video call and will last approximately one hour
With continued agreement of services, the consultant will approach a long list of schools / universities with detail about the child. Information about these schools (up to six choices) will be included in an Initial Report, outlining why the schools have been chosen, details about application and next steps. All the nominated schools / universities on the long list will have been approached and will have confirmed they are happy to receive an application from the family.
This stage includes all the necessary support required for registration and application to the most suitable schools / universities, once this has been discussed and agreed with parents. Support will include:
This stage sees the client all the way through to acceptance and joining at the chosen school / university.
If the family are able to visit schools / universities prior to application, select.ed will coordinate and offer confirmation of visit and school tour timetable with the client. We will also offer on-going support with practical arrangements for the visit, including research and advice regarding hotel bookings and will arrange follow-up discussions with parents and schools about visits. If the family wish for a supported visit (accompanied by a senior consultant), there will be an additional fee.
